Campus Safety Officer - Part Time

Position Accountabilities

Position Accountabilities:

• Campus security and patrol -Provides security for persons, buildings, andassists the university through avariety of security techniques and methods.Patrols the campus in a manner consistent with Department Guidelines and University Policy. Monitor CCTV system. 

• Assistance -Responds to requests forassistance and information in a helpful and courteous manner. Routine involvement in directing vehicular or pedestrian traffic.Assists public, students, staff, and faculty by giving directions, information and other aid as needed.  

• Policy enforcement -Enforce appropriate university regulations and policiesincluding, but not limited to parking and traffic regulations. Must maintainup-to-date all security clearances, directory, logs, scanning data, and data entry. Follow all Department Guidelines and University Policy.  

• Documentation and reporting -Maintain up-to-date officer log, per JeanneClery Act.Completeappropriate reports. 

• Communication and response -Required to communicate and coordinate/directa number of simultaneous activities without confusion, sometimes under stressful conditions; provide rapid response to law enforcement and or any other emergency requirements needed to protect fellow officers.Operate andutilize radio to communicate effectivelyto Campus Safety Officers. 

• Technicalproficiency -Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher.Operate the following programs: Report Exec, Facility Commander, campus safety email,EProcess, Jenzabar.  

• Other -Other projects assigned by the Director of Campus Safety.

• High School Diplomarequired.Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.  

• Mustpossess a valid driver’s license and be insurable, must be able to be an Approved Park Driver.  

• Prior security experience preferred 

• The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; through security reports,complaint and witness statements, and inassistingan providing general information to university community and visitors.  

• Sensitivity toward the cultural diversity of the campus community. 

• Schedule is flexible and canchange/shift withtheneeds of the department. 

• Park Universityrequires consent and successful completion of a background screening. Full disclosure of all felony and/or misdemeanor violations isrequired.
