Responsibilities
ResidentialMilieuSupport
Maintainasafe,structured,andtherapeuticenvironment.
Implementresidentialcareplansaccordingtoprogrampolicies.
Maintainanddocumentrequiredlevelsofchildobservationeachshift.
Supervisechildrenindailyroutinesandassistwithactivitiesofdailyliving.
Identify,report,andhelpresolvesafetyorbehavioralconcerns.
Providetimelyverbalandwrittenfollow‑upaftercriticalincidents.
Interveneindisruptiveorunsafesituationsusingapprovedtherapeutictechniques.
ProfessionalStandards
Followallhospital,departmental,andprogrampolicies.
Attendprogrammeetingsandrequiredtrainings.
Maintaincurrentcertificationsincrisismanagement,CPR,ERS,Safety,andOSHA.
Participateinongoingstaffdevelopment.
TreatmentPlanning&Documentation
Participateintheadmissionprocessasassigned.
Supporttheinitialtherapeuticalliancewithchildrenandfamilies.
Completeinitialmilieuassessmentwithin24hoursofadmission.
Developaninitialproblemlistandresidentialcareplanwithin24hours.
Reviewandrevisecareplansdailybasedonobservations.
Communicatetreatmentplanstoprogramstaffandcollaboratewithmultidisciplinaryproviders.
ParticipateinDPCs,treatmentteammeetings,andshiftreports.
Documentsignificantobservationsandmilieuinterventionsinthechild’schartinatimelymanner.
Shareknowledgeandexperiencewithcolleaguesthroughformalandinformallearningopportunities.
Behavioral&TherapeuticSupport
Teachandassistchildrenwithdailylivingskillsandpersonalhygienebasedondevelopmentallevel.
Setconsistenttherapeuticlimitsalignedwithprogramstandards.
Implementindividualizedbehavioralprogramsincollaborationwithclinicians.
Participateinorganizingandrunningprogramactivities.
Modelappropriatetherapeuticinteractionswithchildrenandfamilies.
Supportandparticipateinrecreationtherapyprogramming.
Managecrisessafelyusingtheleastrestrictiveinterventions.
Seeksupervisionproactivelyandincorporatefeedbackintopractice.
MinimumQualifications
Education
Bachelor’sdegreeinaHumanServicesfieldpreferred.
Equivalenteducation/experiencemaybeconsidered.
Experience
Sixmonthstooneyearofdirectchildcareexperiencewithemotionallyimpairedyouth.
CurrentBradleyHospitalCrisisManagementcertificationorenrollmentinthecourse.
CurrentCPR,ERS,Safety,andOSHAcertifications.
Knowledge&Skills
Abilitytoprovidedevelopmentallyappropriatecareacrossthelifespan.
Understandingofhumandevelopment,culturalfactors,andtherapeuticcommunication.
