MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join our surgical services team. Position:Anesthesia Technician
Location: Alfond Center for Health, Augusta
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Shift:Â Days (8a-5p); Monday-Friday
The Role:
The Anesthesia Technician plays an essential role in supporting anesthesia personnel before, during, and after procedures. This position prepares and maintains anesthesia equipment and supplies, assists with patient care and procedures, troubleshoots equipment, and maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment.
What You’ll Do
As an Anesthesia Technician, you’ll work closely with our licensed anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety and support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Equipment Management: Cleaning and setting up all types of anesthesia equipment.
- Patient Support: Assisting with patient assessment, monitoring, transport, positioning, IV insertion, invasive lines, and airway management.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Providing daily equipment maintenance and addressing malfunctions.
- Room Turnover: Facilitating efficient and safe room transitions.
What You Bring
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Previous clinical or healthcare experience preferred; 1 year or more of clinical experience is preferred
- Active status on the State of Maine CNA Registry preferred
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification is required within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to calibrate and troubleshoot equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced, collaborative perioperative team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods, moving equipment, and assisting with patient transport and positioning

Compensation Information:
$19.50 - $34.13The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
