Job Description
The purpose of this role is to ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while providing an exceptional customer service within the Air Import department by completing the following tasks:
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.
- ProcessĀ pre alerts from overseas origins
- Monitor/trackĀ shipments in transit to arrival
- Timely updateĀ event codes in the import system
- LiaiseĀ with airlines and sheds for any discrepancies
- LiaiseĀ with collection drivers and the warehouse team
- CreateĀ records for shipments in our customs facility
- Settlement of consoles with overseas offices.
- Contribute to maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking companies, and others).
- Meet compliance at all times to regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customerās policies / requirements.
- Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency.

The successful applicant will work the following shift pattern:
4 days on 4 days off 6am - 6pm, As part of this rota, someweekend and Bank Holiday working will be required.
- Previous experience in a similar position desirableĀ
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
- Pro-active, strong organizational skills.
- Good computer skills (Excel, Word).
