R&D Engineering Intern, Co-Op 2027 (8 months)

Your Opportunity as anEngineeringIntern 

As an intern within our Corporate Engineering Organization, you will workon a Process Engineering Teamsupporting Research and Development.You will work on research projects that involve designing and executing experiments in the laboratory and pilot plant, develop and conduct tests to evaluate potentialprocessing changes, orprove out new process technology for new products and equipment.You will have the opportunity to lead your own projects, while also gaining exposure to broader company initiatives. 

Location:Orrville,OHCorporate Offices 

Work Arrangements:100% in office expectations  

Work Schedule:We are looking for students who are available for 6-8months (fromJanuary – August or May– December). Pleaseindicate your availability on the application. 

In this role you will:  

• Partner closely withscientists, engineers, and technicianstocomplete multiple projects, analyze data, and presentresultsto company leadership. 

• Apply fundamental engineering principles to design and conductexperiments onpilot scale manufacturingequipmentand analyticalinstruments. 

• Interface as needed with equipment suppliers,manufacturingfacilities andcross-functionalbusinesspartnersto achieve project goals. 

• Develop foundational knowledgeasan engineerin the food industry, with a focus onoptimizing processes, equipment, and finished product attributes. 

What we are looking for:  

• A Sophomore or Junior standing in school with requisite educational experience in Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering  

• A well-rounded skill set including strong time-management, the ability to work flexible/varied hours (some overtime may be needed), comfort in working in a laboratory, pilot plant, and plant environments
