Position Details:CTRIs will teach between20-25participants in a mixof private, semi-private, and grouptherapeutic riding lessons each week while supervising and providing direction to program volunteers.CTRIs will alsoassist withprogram-related activities (such as schooling horses, other equine needs,horse handling/sidewalking,andspecial events).We are looking for someone with a positive “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail with a high degree of initiative and problem-solving skills.Â
Instructor Responsibilities Â
- Develop effective lesson plans and instruct clients each week to develop horsemanship skillsÂ
- Keep daily attendance and notes in Salesforce for each participant according to ROCK proceduresÂ
- Create goals for eachparticipantand ensure communication with participant/ parents/caregiver/guardiansregarding progress toward each goal at the end of each riding lessonÂ
- Engage participants in lessons to increasegoal attainment,motivation, joy, and satisfaction.Â
- Instruct in summer camps, volunteertraining, and other programs/events throughout the yearÂ
- Assist with schooling horses both mounted and unmounted, feeding and any other equine needsÂ
- Follow and uphold all PATH Intl. andROCK-approved practices, policies, and proceduresÂ
- Mentor instructors in training, interns,andvolunteers, as neededÂ
- Consistently communicate with volunteers who areassisting during lessons to keep them engaged and involved in the lessonÂ
- Assist in lessons as needed as asidewalker or horse handlerÂ
- Other duties assigned by the Program Director and the CEOÂ
Preferred Minimum Qualifications/Experience Â
- 2 years of experience teaching at a PATH Intl. accredited facility Â
- Experience working with children and/or adults with disabilitiesÂ
- Demonstrateproficiencyin horse care and behaviorÂ
Special Requirements Â
- Successfully complete pre-employment background check  Â
- Current certification in CPR and First AidÂ
- PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor(CTRI)certification or higherÂ
- Proof of certificationrequiredÂ
