Maintenance Manager

Job Description and Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experiencedMaintenance Manager to join our team at our Red Deer facility. Reporting to the Director Operations, Red Deer. The Maintenance Manager will oversee the upkeep and functionality of industrial equipment and facilities, ensuring smooth production operations and minimizing downtime. This role offers an opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team while contributing to operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Manage maintenance procedures, budget and the maintenance team while ensuring safe work conditions
• Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to improve operational performance
• Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, and review and communicate the impact on maintenance activities
• Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend and manage expenditure
• Identify business improvement opportunities and deploy the technical skills, resources and systems required to deliver projects
• Develop and manage key performance measures, report on achievement of targets and identify actions required
• Manage, coach and develop a high-performing maintenance team, ensuring adequate staffing levels and reviewing ongoing performance
• Prepare the annual maintenance budget and forecasts, and contribute to capital expenditure proposals while ensuring compliance with legal standards
  

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in engineering or related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
• 5 years of progressive leadership roles
• 5 years industrial experience.
• Strong leadership skills combined with technical knowledge of industrial maintenance and engineering automation
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing, including mechanical equipment, machinery, systems and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication, adaptability and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Alberta Employment Standards and occupational health and safety regulations and standards
• Strong Computer proficiency
• Experience in pipe or steel manufacturing, oil patch, heat treatment or welding is preferred
