About the Role:

The Senior Data & AI Engineer at Brooks is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise data platforms and AI-enabled solutions that support analytics, automation, and decision-support capabilities.

This is a unique opportunity to join Brooks at an exciting stage of our digital transformation journey. As we continue to invest in advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision making across the Asia Pacific region, we are building a new generation of data and AI capabilities that will help shape the future of our business.

You will play a key role in establishing and scaling Brooks' Data & AI ecosystem in APAC, working on cutting-edge initiatives involving enterprise data platforms, Generative AI, AI Agents, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, and modern cloud analytics technologies. Beyond supporting current business needs, this role offers the opportunity to help define how AI is adopted and leveraged across our manufacturing, engineering, operations, and corporate functions.

Work location: Onsite – Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Data Engineering: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ingestion processes, and curated data layers

·       Python Development: Build reusable scripts, notebooks, APIs, and automation components for data and AI solutions

·       Data Modeling: Develop data models, semantic layers, and structured datasets for analytics and AI use cases

·       Platform Engineering: Support and optimize cloud analytics platforms including AWS Redshift, Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Azure AI services

·      GenAI / LLM Use Cases:

·       Prepare structured and governed data for retrieval, summarization, Q&A, and classification use cases

·       Develop RAG patterns, vector search approaches, and AI-ready data foundations

·       Leverage Microsoft Copilot, Fabric Data Agents, and Azure AI Foundry capabilities to support enterprise AI solutions

·      AI Agents:

·       Design and develop AI agents for data queries, business workflows, report generation, and operational alerts

·       Build agent workflows, tool usage, orchestration logic, and integrations with enterprise systems

·       Maintain deployed AI components using Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Fabric, and OneLake-connected data assets

Qualifications:

·       5-8 years in data engineering, analytics engineering, cloud data platforms, or AI engineering roles

·      Data Engineering:

·       Strong SQL and Python skills with experience building production data pipelines and data models

·       Experience with data integration, data quality, performance optimization, and platform reliability

·       GenAI / LLM Exposure:

·       Experience using tools like Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT or similar

·       Proficient with modern GenAI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, etc.

·      AI Agents:

·       Experience building or supporting production-grade AI agents using Amazon Bedrock, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Fabric Data Agents, or similar platforms

·       Strong awareness of emerging agentic AI trends, multi-agent architectures, and AI governance practices

·      Data Platforms:

·       Rich experience with enterprise data platforms and cloud analytics ecosystems, including AWS Redshift, Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure AI Foundry, and modern semantic data models

·       Experience developing AI-ready data foundations, semantic layers, and retrieval architectures that support Copilot, Fabric Data Agents, and agentic AI solutions
