If you're a nursing student or newly licensed RN with less than one year of RN experience, we'd love to hear from you. Our New Graduate RN application allows you to share your preferred hospital locations and patient care interests while being considered for opportunities across the Allina Health system. Please include a current, detailed copy of your resume. We hire new graduate nurses year-round and encourage students to apply before graduation. May grads can apply as soon as January, December grads as soon as August.
Work Schedule Information:
- Schedule availability varies based on unit openings and patient care needs. New Graduate RN opportunities commonly include:
- Straight night shifts
- Day/night rotation
- Occasional evening or day/evening opportunities based on availability
- Shift lengths are typically 8 or 12 hours, with weekend requirements generally every other or every third weekend.
- Most New Graduate RN positions are offered at the following FTEs:
- 0.75 FTE (60 hours per pay period)
- 0.80 FTE (64 hours per pay period)
- 0.90 FTE (72 hours per pay period)
Compensation:
- RN compensation in our hospitals follows a union-based wage scale that considers education level and years of service. Effective June 1, 2026, starting hourly rates for new graduate RNs in our metro hospitals are $44.64/hour for an associate’s degree nurse, $46.20 for a bachelor’s degree nurse, and $47.77/hour for a master’s degree nurse.
- Additional compensation, including shift differentials and other applicable premiums, will be discussed during the offer process.
Unit Availabilities:
- There may be availabilities in a wide variety of inpatient units within the 12 hospital campuses of the Allina Health system that hire new grad RNs, such as:
- Cardiac Telemetry
- Float Pool
- Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation
- Medical Surgical
- Neurology
- Oncology
- Orthopedics
- Progressive Care
- Short Stay Observation
- Spine
- Our Inpatient Mental Health and Emergency Departments will occasionally hire new grads with experience in those respective areas depending on position availability.
- The OB, ICU, clinics, urgent care, surgical services, home care and hospice settings within Allina rarely hire new graduate nurses.
- Our hospitals primarily serve the adult patient populations so we do not have Neonatal, Pediatrics or Special Care Nursery units within the Allina hospital system.

Job Description:
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in nursing
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or above degree in nursing
Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required if working in state of MN upon hire / WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in the state of WI upon hire
- Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
â—¦ Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
â—¦ Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
â—¦ Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Pay Range
Pay Range: $40.68 to $63.77 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work. Â
