Job Description: Risk-Based Asset Management Lead

Job Type: Long-term Contract

Location: Remote

Role Overview

As theRisk-Based Asset Management Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and lifecycle management of organizational assets through the lens of risk. Unlike traditional asset management, this role focuses on prioritizing assets based on their criticality to business operations and their vulnerability to threats. You will lead the development of a robust framework to ensure that resources are allocated to the most vital assets while maintaining a fortified security posture.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Asset Profiling: Define and maintain a comprehensive inventory of hardware, software, and data assets, categorized by their risk profile and business impact.
Risk Prioritization: Develop and implement scoring models to rank assets based on vulnerability, threat exposure, and mission criticality.
Lifecycle Governance: Lead the end-to-end asset lifecycle process—from procurement and deployment to decommissioning—ensuring security controls are integrated at every stage.
Vulnerability Alignment: Partner with security teams to map vulnerability scan results to specific assets, driving remediation efforts based on the asset's risk level.
Compliance & Audit: Ensure the asset management database (CMDB) meets regulatory requirements and internal audit standards.
Financial Optimization: Provide data-driven recommendations on asset spend by identifying underutilized or high-risk "end-of-life" assets that require replacement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Leadership: Significant experience leading asset management or IT operations teams in a complex, remote environment.
Analytical Expertise: Strong ability to quantify risk and translate technical vulnerabilities into business impact.
Tools & Technology: Proficiency with CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow), ITAM software, and risk assessment methodologies.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to move beyond "inventory counting" to proactive risk mitigation and resource optimization.
