What to Expect
Tesla’s Factory Design team is seeking a Revit specialist to support engineers designing factory layouts and material flow for current and future Gigafactories. You will empower those engineers by optimizing Revit workflows, automating data processes, training on and supporting Autodesk products, and building custom Revit families. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and feasibility of Tesla’s manufacturing expansion.
What You’ll Do
- Train Manufacturing teams on Revit/CAD processes and Tesla’s BIM standards; maintain documentation and keep training currentÂ
- Create, modify, and improve Revit assets/families, templates, and scripts to streamline designÂ
- Lead governance for family deployment, model health, and data integrity — keep sustaining and design models aligned to current standards, reduce file sizes, and track/flag models with bad dataÂ
- Develop Revit/CAD processes tailored to different roles, sites, and products, including easier model sustaining and accessible archives of prior layoutsÂ
- Partner with internal software teams on Revit data input and maintenance so models can integrate with internal tools across disciplinesÂ
- Partner with VDC to establish and maintain Revit/CAD base files and ensure correct import/export for clash detectionÂ
- Maintain site-to-Revit integration, help transition sites into Revit, and set up/maintain BIM360/ACC projectsÂ
- Troubleshoot Revit, AutoCAD, and Autodesk issues and serve as the team’s voice on BIM topics across functionsÂ
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or related experienceÂ
- 2+ years of Revit experience in manufacturing, industrial layouts, or constructionÂ
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Dynamo, Navisworks, Revizito, and BluebeamÂ
- Experience with parametric Revit family design and BIM standardsÂ
- Ability to automate workflows (data exports, family updates)Â
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical collaborationÂ
