Clayton Services is searching for a Revenue Accountant to join a growing energy organization in Northwest Houston. The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for supporting oil and gas revenue accounting activities, reconciling production and revenue data, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting across multiple producing assets.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000/year
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Revenue Accountant Responsibilities:
- Perform revenue accounting activities for oil and gas producing properties across multiple fields and states.
- Process, review, and reconcile oil and gas revenue transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze production volumes, revenue statements, ownership information, and related accounting data.
- Research and resolve revenue discrepancies, payment issues, and account variances.
- Prepare monthly revenue entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with federal and state reporting requirements related to oil and gas production and revenue.
- Support accounting activities associated with federal lands and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate revenue accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with accounting, production, and operations personnel to research and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end close activities and other accounting projects as needed.
- Learn and utilize Wolfpack oil and gas accounting software.
Revenue Accountant Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of oil and gas revenue accounting principles and processes.
- Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies within large amounts of financial and production data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Experience with Wolfpack software is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of federal land revenue accounting is a plus.
- Experience with ONRR reporting and federal reporting systems is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a lean accounting team and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Revenue Accountant Education and Experience:
- Approximately 5 years of oil and gas revenue accounting experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience supporting upstream oil and gas operations strongly preferred.
- Federal land, ONRR, and regulatory reporting experience is a plus.
- Experience with Wolfpack or similar oil and gas accounting software is preferred
