Restaurant Technician

Job Description:

Onvo is seeking a Restaurant Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of restaurant equipment and systems, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. This role involves both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across multiple restaurant locations.

Job Responsibilities:

* Perform routine preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment including ovens, fryers, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and other food service machinery.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues affecting restaurant operations.
* Troubleshoot and resolve problems with HVAC systems, exhaust hoods, and refrigeration units.
* Conduct basic repairs and maintenance on facility infrastructure, such as lighting, plumbing fixtures, and minor carpentry.
* Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and disruption to restaurant service.
* Order and manage inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for repairs.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
* Collaborate with restaurant managers and staff to understand equipment needs and prioritize repairs.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance and repair work.
* Assist in the installation of new equipment as needed.
* Provide basic training to restaurant staff on proper equipment usage and minor troubleshooting.

Job Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, or culinary equipment repair preferred.
* Proven ability to diagnose and repair commercial kitchen equipment, including gas, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
* Strong understanding of electrical circuits, plumbing systems, and mechanical components.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel between Onvo locations may be required.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., hot kitchens, cold freezers).
* Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in equipment maintenance.
* EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification is a plus.
