The Role

We're seeking an energetic and passionateSupervisor to lead from the floor and support our high-performing team atLAYAL. In this hands-on role, you'll drive exceptional guest experiences, coach and develop team members, and help deliver seamless day-to-day operations in one of Melbourne's most exciting hospitality destinations.

Layal is Crown Melbourne's newest Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant and bar, where bold flavours, handcrafted cocktails and premium shisha come together in a vibrant and social setting.

You'll be an ambassador for the venue, creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring service reflects the warmth, energy and traditions of Middle Eastern hospitality.

In this role, you will:

• Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Drive service standards and ensure smooth day-to-day venue operations.
• Coach, develop and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
• Assist with training, onboarding and team development initiatives.
• Support labour management, productivity and operational performance.
• Build strong relationships with guests and key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with responsible service, regulatory and Crown requirements.
• Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.

You'll bring:

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a restaurant or premium hospitality environment.
• A passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong communication, coaching and people leadership skills, with the ability to lead confidently in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• A hands-on leadership style with a focus on service excellence.
• Sound problem-solving and organisational skills, with the confidence to professionally navigate challenging guest situations.
• An appreciation and understanding of Middle Eastern culture, hospitality traditions and guest expectations is highly regarded.
• The ability to speak Arabic or another relevant Middle Eastern language is desirable.
• Comfort working in an environment where shisha smoking is permitted.
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
