Job Description

FAST Labs defines the next generation of technology across BAE Systems’ Aerospace & Mission Systems (AMS) segment. FAST Labs is seeking interns currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs to support our Research and Development (R&D) programs across multiple Technical Areas. These Tech Areas develop novel technologies ranging from the next generation of new RF/cyber algorithms to demonstration of advanced EW capabilities in integrated systems at government ranges.Roles and Responsibilities may include:
- Support research focused teams in the design, test, or analysis of capabilities in RF, algorithms, signal processing, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), or reverse engineering/vulnerability detection/exploitation.
- Contribute to modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks that help validate prototype performance.
- Collect and analyze data; produce plots, summaries, or insights for the team.
- Develop or modify small scripts or tools (often in MATLAB or Python) to automate data processing or simulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrate curiosity and initiative while staying aligned with mentor guidance.
This internship will be located onsite in Merrimack NH.
Required Skills and Education
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program for Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or a related field, and will complete your junior year prior to summer 2027.
- Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently.
- Ability to close on discrete tasking in a timely manner.
- Must be eligible for a US DoD security clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
- Knowledge of RF technologies, algorithms, signal processing, artificial intelligence/machine learning, reverse engineering/vulnerability detection/exploitation, performance and data analysis
- Research and development (R&D) experience
- Experience with MATLAB, C++, Python
- Security clearance (secret or higher)
