Program SummaryÂ
The National Science Foundation (NSF) manages the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). The USAP supports all U.S. scientific research and relatedlogistics in Antarctica and aboard USAP vessels thatoperate along the continental margin and in the Southern Ocean. Science within the Antarctic research portfolio is chosen and funded by NSF and other Federal agencies, including NASA, NOAA, and the Department of Energy. The purpose of the Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract (ASESC) is to enable that science.Â
All participantsare responsible formaintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority. This includes compliance with all ASESC environmental health & safety, and quality assurance requirements.Â
Job SummaryÂ
The FEMC-P Transition Assistant supports the Facilities, Engineering, Maintenance, Construction, and Planning (FEMC-P) transition activities associated with the Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract (ASESC). This roleis responsible for keeping the FEMC and project transition groups organized by providing coordination and documentation support that allows engineers and project managers to focus on delivery. The FEMC-P Transition Assistant works closely with transition leadership, engineers, maintenance personnel, construction teams, planners, and operational stakeholders tofacilitate a seamless and compliant contract transition.Â

Roles and Responsibilities Â
Support planning and execution of FEMC-P transition activitiesÂ
Assist in collecting, organizing, and tracking transition-related documentation, records, procedures, drawings, asset information, and technical dataÂ
Coordinate with subject matter experts and operational teams to support knowledge transfer efforts and continuity planningÂ
Maintain transition schedules, action-item trackers, risk logs, and status reports related to FEMC-P activitiesÂ
Assist with documenting current-state operations, processes, workflows, and maintenance practices to support transition readinessÂ
Participate in transition meetings andmaintain records of decisions, action items, and follow-up activitiesÂ
Assist with facility and asset data collection, verification, and reconciliation activitiesÂ
Support identification and tracking of operational dependencies, risks, and transition issues requiring resolutionÂ
Assist in preparing transition reports, briefings, metrics, and documentation for leadership reviewÂ
Support compliance with contractual requirements, organizational policies, records management practices, and information security standardsÂ

Basic Qualifications Â
U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.Â
High school diploma or equivalentÂ
1–3 years of experience in project support, administrative coordination, facilities support, operations support, construction administration, maintenance planning, or a related fieldÂ
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TeamsÂ
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesÂ
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
Ability tomaintainaccurate records, trackers, and documentationÂ
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline-driven environmentÂ
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholdersÂ
Â
Preferred QualificationsÂ
Associate's orBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Project Management, or a related fieldÂ
Experience supporting facilities, engineering, maintenance, construction, or infrastructure-related programsÂ
Experience supporting government contracts, transition efforts, mobilizations, or operational readiness activitiesÂ
