The selected candidates will be responsible for managing end-to-end electronic data transmissions, diagnosing complex file discrepancies, and performing deep-dive data validation directly within our core PEO platform. The ideal candidate possesses strong domain expertise in the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) or comprehensive HR outsourcing landscape, with specialized mastery of EDI 834 (Enrollment) and EDI 820 (Premium Payment) transaction pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- PEO System Data Validation: Perform comprehensive data auditing and integrity checks directly within the internal PEO platform (HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems). Validate that employee setup records, deduction configurations, and benefit enrollments accurately match source documentation before and after file transmissions.
- Customer Communication & Support: Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients regarding data integrations. Translate complex technical EDI formatting data into clear, actionable updates for non-technical stakeholders.
- Production Support & Troubleshooting: Monitor daily, weekly, and seasonal data transmission pipelines. Investigate, diagnose, and resolve structural file errors, syntax rejections, and schema structural mismatches (such as 999 or TA1 technical alerts).
- Data Auditing & Compliance: Conduct detailed data reconciliation audits across enrollment records, deduction changes, and outbound carrier rosters. Ensure strict operational alignment with HIPAA, PHI security protocols, and ACA reporting rules.
- Carrier Onboarding & Testing (Senior Capability): Lead data-mapping sessions and coordinate directly with technical teams to build, test, and implement standard data structures for new employer group onboarding.
- Open Enrollment Execution: Partner closely with internal benefits configuration teams to execute high-volume Open Enrollment file updates, managing complex date parameters and coverage migrations smoothly.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of direct experience navigating the PEO, ASO, or Enterprise HR Technology industries as a data or EDI professional.
- Proven track record of leading end-to-end electronic enrollment implementations and designing custom data mapping workflows.
- Domain Expertise: Robust functional knowledge of PEO/HRIS architecture, core payroll lifecycle processing, benefit deductions, and open enrollment cycles is mandatory.
- Technical EDI Mastery: Expert operational understanding of ASC X12 standards, specifically handling EDI 834 (Benefit Enrollment and Maintenance) and EDI 820 (Payment Order/Remittance Advice) documentation setups.
- Problem Solving & Querying: Proven capacity to analyze raw file structures (txt, data dumps) and perform systems validation. Proficiency with SQL queries or advanced data mapping logic for file analysis is strongly preferred.
- Client Handling Skills: Strong verbal and written professional communication habits. Ability to handle sensitive technical escalations while building collaborative, trusted relationships with corporate client HR teams.
- Experience using secure data transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, AS2) and automated script scheduling.
- Prior experience implementing custom benefit calculations, cross-carrier tier mapping, or handling complex state-specific insurance reporting rules.
