Position Overview
The University Registrar is the chief custodian of academic records at Wiley University and the senior leader of the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar is accountable for the accuracy, security, and integrity of every student record, from first registration through degree conferral and beyond.
The Registrar leads registration, the academic calendar, the course schedule, grading, transcripts, enrollment and degree verification, international student enrollment process, degree audit, and graduation certification and planning. The role interprets and enforces academic policy and ensures compliance with FERPA, federal and state regulations, and accreditation standards.
This role carries a dual charge: records custodian and completion strategist. The Registrar protects the record and is equally accountable for moving students toward a degree. At a small private HBCU, the Registrar's decisions shape whether a scholar registers on time, stays on a clear path to a degree, and crosses the stage. The Registrar is a member of the Division of Enrollment Management and Strategic Retention Leadership Team and partners with the Division of Academic Affairs and Strategic Retention, Office of Financial Aid, Office of the Bursar/Student Billing, Division of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, Athletics, and Information Technology to remove barriers and deliver records services with speed, accuracy, and care.
The successful candidate is a detail driven critical thinker, a confident systems leader, and a clear communicator who can translate policy for students, families, faculty, and staff. The Registrar serves as the final point of escalation for records and registration issues.
