The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOUâLL DO:
The RPN provides client care in accordance with the Professional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. As a member of the health care team, the RPN has a significant role in promoting health, preventing illness, and helping clients attain and maintain the highest level of health possible in situations in which a clientâs condition is relatively stable, less complex and the outcomes of care are predictable.
WHAT YOUâLL BRING:
Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Recent experience in medical nursing preferred
Experience in Long-term home care is preferred
Current BCLS
Demonstrated extensive knowledge working with individuals with various types of dementia, delirium, mental health concerns and addictions, and other neurological conditions, and those who experience a behaviour change
Enhanced knowledge of family and caregiver needs that can best be served by a behavioural support system
Training/knowledge of Gentle Persuasion Approach (GPA), P.I.E.C.E.S. *TM, U-First!, Montessori for Dementia preferred or willingness to receive training
Current Medication Administration certificate and experience
WHO YOU ARE:
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
Added Nursing Skills - Venipuncture, IV initiation, medication, CVADs, insert, set-up and maintain G-tubes, insert catheters and performs manual irrigations, initiates and maintains CADD and Hickman lines
Demonstrated person and caregiver focused care and supported by best evidence based clinical practices
Good understanding of non-pharmacological and therapeutic behavioural approaches
Good understanding of pharmacological agents, and their interactions, that are used to manage conditions that have behavioural components along the disease continuum
Demonstrated trouble shooting and problem-solving approach relative to behavioural exacerbations
Excellent assessment skills
Demonstrated ability in planning and coordination of care and resources for residents/clients
Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills
Good critical thinking skills for the early detection, intervention and prevention of responsive behaviours
Good conflict resolution skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients/families, staff, physicians and the community
Demonstrated enthusiasm, flexibility and ability to cope with change in previous/present work experience.
Commitment to change management
Ability to demonstrate leadership skills including facilitation, coaching, mentoring and adult learning skills
Demonstrated effectiveness working with minimal supervision with proven reliability and trustworthiness
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to meet physical demands and safety conditions
Demonstrated ability to work toward the achievement of goals and objectives and initiate appropriate revisions when necessary
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and handle multiple demands at a time
Demonstrates good planning and organizational skills
Demonstrated effectiveness as a team member through collaboration, respect and effective communication skills in interacting with patients, family members and other members of the inter-professional care teams including community and primary care team members
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
Good computer skills - EPIC, RUGS, Intranet
Proven good attendance record, organizing and prioritizing work effectively and emergency management effectiveness
Demonstrated good attendance record and ability to maintain same
Basic computer skills and knowledge
Knowledge/usage of order entry preferred
