Registered Nurse:Â Medical-Surgical-Telemetry unit.
Unit Overview:
6B is a 23-bed med/surg/telemetry unit. This unit specializes in post-cardiac intervention, medical cardiology, chemotherapy, continuous EEG, and post-procedural patients. Staff receive specialized training for post-catheterization and Tikosyn initiation/administration. This population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care.

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.
Employee honors patients 'mind, body, and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual.
Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines.

As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and dischargeactivities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
Basic life support
ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
