Join the Autism Society of North Carolina as an RN Health Consultant, providing clinical leadership and guidance that supports safe, person-centered care for individuals with autism and intellectual or developmental disabilities. You’ll consult with teams, strengthen health practices, develop practical protocols, and support staff through training and collaborative problem-solving.

What You'll Do:

  • Leadership & Supervision

Provide clinical leadership and strategic guidance across ASNC programs and service settings to support integrated, whole-person care. Partner with teams to strengthen health-related practices, monitor trends, recommend assistive technologies, and support value-based performance goals.

  • Clinical Consultation for Programs and Staff

Consult with programs, supervisors, and service teams on complex medical needs, medication practices, emergency planning, and coordinated care. Provide nursing input for service planning, crisis response, Camp Royall health coverage, and partnerships with medical providers as needed.

  • Medication & Clinical Protocol Management

Oversee medication administration reviews, training, and curriculum to promote safety, accuracy, and compliance. Develop and monitor clinical protocols for seizure management, diabetes, chronic conditions, emergency care, and infection control.

  • Training & Curriculum Development

Develop, maintain, and deliver health-related training for program staff and external partners. Support clinical education through webinars, ECHO presentations, and other learning opportunities as requested.

  • Policy, Protocol & Compliance

Support health, safety, and personal outcome standards by advising on nursing-related policies, SOPs, and crisis planning. Represent the agency in safety-related initiatives and help ensure services align with established quality and compliance expectations.

  • Ability to provide clinical consultation, training, and practical guidance to interdisciplinary teams supporting individuals with complex medical, behavioral, or support needs.

  • Experience developing or delivering training curricula, webinars, or professional presentations for staff, families, and partner audiences.

  • Sound clinical judgment, initiative, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain health information clearly to staff, leadership, families, and external partners.

  • Commitment to safe, respectful, person-centered supports for individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and their families.
