Position Summary

IDEA'sDepartmentofSocialInnovationisonamissiontobecomeAmerica'stopsocialinnovation hub: the place where poverty ends and human flourishing is grown.We empower, connect, and educate emerging change makers we callIdealists, giving them the training and community they need to reduce suffering, build prosperity, and lead lasting change in their own communities.

AsaRegionalSocialInnovationCoordinator,youwillfindthesepeople,helpthemgrow,andgivethemahomeatIDEA.You'llbethego-toconvenerforemergingleaders,youngprofessionals,students,masajid,andcommunityorganizationsinyourregion.You'llhost eventsthatinspire,runtrainingsandaleadershipFellowship,andconnectvolunteerstomeaningful work across IDEA's programs, from food distribution to medical missions.

WhilethisroleisbasedatIDEA'sofficeinBuenaPark,CA,itisaregionaljobspanningfive states:SouthernCalifornia,Nevada,Colorado,Arizona,andHawaii.You'llbuildfirstand mostdeeplyinSoCal,andyou'llalsoberesponsibleforengagingcommunitiesandproviding volunteer support across the rest of the region. This is a field role: you'll spend most of your time out in the community, not behind a desk.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Power IDEA's programs and fundraising (about 40%)

• Recruit,train,andleadvolunteersforIDEA'sFundDevelopmentevents,USPrograms,food distributions, disaster response, and medical missions.
• Partner with IDEA teams from the start of planning to design volunteer experiences people love, then follow up and invite volunteers to their next step.
• Recruit emerging leaders for international volunteer trips to see IDEA's projects firsthand.

Conveneandconnectyourcommunity(about40%)

• Build relationships with MSAs, young professional groups, masajid, nonprofits, and social enterprises across your region, and show up at their events.
• HostamonthlyIDEANightinyourhomecity,buildingtowardalargeRamadanIDEANight with iftar, fundraising, vendor booths, and local organizations.
• Runquarterlyconveninginothercitiesinyourregion,suchaspitchdaysandhackathons for good.
• Findandsharethestoriesoflocalchange makers.
• Turn relationships into support for IDEA's work, in partnership with our Fund Development team.

Trainandgrowleaders(about20%)

• LeadtwoIDEAFellowshipcohortsayear:athree-monthleadershipprogramforemergingchange makers.
• Deliverworkshopsonorganizing,storytelling,andsocialinnovation,andhelppartnerorganizations build their capacity.
• GuidevolunteersintoIDEA'sonlineleadershiptrainingandsupportthemfromtheir firsteventtoleadingtheirownprojects.

 Qualifications and Competencies:

• Abachelor'sdegreeinarelatedfield,orequivalentprofessionalexperience
• 3+yearsincommunityorganizing,volunteermanagement,programcoordination,orsimilar work
• Experienceplanningandrunningevents,fromsmallgatheringstolargepublicprograms
• Experiencedesigningorleadingtrainings,workshops,orleadershipprograms
• Experiencebuildingpartnerships,andaninterestinrelationship-basedfundraising
• Strongcommunicationskillswithaudiencesfromstudentstoexecutives
• Comfortmanagingabudgetandkeepingaccuraterecordsindigitaltools
• Abilitytoworkeveningsandweekendsandtravelregularlyacrosstheregion'sfivestates (expenses covered).

Bonus points for:experience with fellowships, social entrepreneurship, impact investing, corporate employee resource groups, or storytelling and video, and familiarity with Muslim community institutions.
