SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Identify,evaluate,andanalyzeworkenvironments to create and manage programsandprocedures thateliminate or control workplace hazards while helping to build a proactive safety culture. Will conduct and drive safety training, audits, policies, procedures, and safety culture initiatives for front-line leadership and line staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teammembermust be able towork in ateamorientedandsafetyconsciousenvironment.Responsible for driving safety at the site level for all locations in the North Eastern node
  • Identifyhazardousconditionsandpractices. Identifypotentialhazards inexistingequipment,machinery,facilities, orprocesses while partnering with key stakeholders to drive risk reduction and finding closures
  • Developsandhelpenforce aplan toeliminatehazards,conductingtrainingsessions formanagement, supervisors,andworkersonhealthandsafetypracticesandregulations,asnecessary
  • Inspectandtestmachineryandequipment,suchas liftingdevices,machineshields, orscaffolding,to ensuretheymeetappropriatesafetyregulations
  • Monitorspersonalprotectiveequipmentuse inworkplaces to ensure compliance withregulations and expectations
  • Communicatewithworkersand front-line supervision to drive a proactive safety culture through positive behavior recognition, while using key safety tools to improve site safety awareness, culture, and communications
  • Ifa safety incidentoccurs,investigatepossible root cause make corrective action recommendations
  • Analyzesdataandpreparesreports forHealthandSafetyMetrics toinclude:SiteScorecard, Trend Analysis, Observations &Behaviors,uses thedata toprovideLeading &LaggingIndicatorsReports
  • Developsoccupationalhealthandsafetysystems; includingpolicies,procedures,andmanuals
  • Documentsafetyinspections,citingdangerousareas/proceduresandrecommendingcorrective procedures.  Makes recommendations on appropriate PPE and safety equipment inventory at sites
  • Performsafetyaudits, visits, projects, and deliverables. Recognize and reinforce positive behaviors
  • Ordersuspension ofactivitiesthatposethreats toworkershealthandsafety
  • Mustmaintain aconsistentandgoodattendancerecord inaccordancewithCompanypolicy
  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations
  • Supportsand manages theCaseManagement ofoccupationalinjuries.Report tomanagement on thestatus ofoccupationalhealthandsafetyprograms

TRAVEL:

  • Regular travel is required and will be based primarily throughout the greater New England region
  • Average time spent traveling will likelyexceed 50% and be based on business needs

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

  • Managessafetytrainingandeducationprograms;demonstrate theuse ofsafetyequipment
  • Facilitates newemployeehealthandsafetyorientationsandmanages/develops thematerial forthese trainingclasses
  • Has the ability to fillin for theSafety Manager and/or Director intimes ofneed; Consultationwith customer, physicians, work comp personnel & legal may berequired
  • Prepareandcalibratescientificequipment inordertomeasureandcontrolhazardoussubstances, orconditionssuchasnoise orradiationlevels
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner

EDUCATION:

Possess a college degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety Management or similar field and OSHA30-hour Contractor Safety Course completion and/or OSHA30-hourGeneralIndustry Safety Course.

EXPERIENCE:

Possess aminimum of threeyears’ experience in the industrialmaintenance, distribution, manufacturing, orconstructionfields;Demonstrates proficiencyin creating /working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,and PowerPoint.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 76,500.00 - $90,000.00
