Job Summary
The Regional Director of Business Development is responsible for leading sales, marketing, census development, referral growth, and market expansion initiatives across an assigned region. This role designs, implements, and manages strategic business development programs that drive Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) census growth, strengthen referral pipelines, expand market share, and increase revenue performance.
The Regional Director of Business Development serves as the primary regional sales leader and partners closely with facility leadership, hospital systems, physicians, case managers, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), health plans, and community referral sources to achieve or exceed census, admissions, and occupancy goals. This position plays a critical role in business development strategy, sales training, lead generation, market analysis, and long‑term growth planning.

• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in multi‑facility long‑term care sales and marketing
• Minimum 5 years of successful healthcare business development experience
• Strong understanding of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), post‑acute care, long‑term care, and healthcare referral networks
• Proven history of achieving or exceeding census, admissions, occupancy, and revenue goals
• Demonstrated success coaching and developing sales and business development teams
• Experience building relationships within hospitals, physician networks, case management departments, and healthcare organizations
• Strong understanding of market analysis, demographic trends, and healthcare growth strategies
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Some college coursework in Marketing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/lead tracking systems

Essential Functions
• Develop, implement, and manage strategic sales and marketing plans for the assigned region
• Drive census growth, admissions growth, occupancy improvement, and payer mix optimization across regional facilities
• Lead and influence Business Development teams to achieve or exceed established census goals
• Develop and strengthen referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, case managers, ACOs, managed care organizations, and community partners
• Identify market opportunities, referral trends, competitive threats, and growth opportunities through market analysis and demographic research
• Spearhead business development initiatives that increase market share and strengthen regional brand awareness
• Evaluate marketing collateral, digital marketing efforts, media campaigns, and advertising strategies to ensure effectiveness and relevance
• Develop and support community outreach programs that enhance facility visibility and referral development
• Assist facility leadership with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing business development personnel
• Conduct ongoing sales coaching, mentoring, and performance development for local marketing teams
• Deliver classroom, field, and one‑on‑one sales training for internal and external business development professionals
• Monitor lead tracking systems, referral conversion metrics, admissions pipelines, and sales performance indicators
• Analyze business development data and implement strategies that improve conversion rates and referral outcomes
• Conduct routine visits with referral sources and healthcare providers to identify patients who may benefit from post‑acute and long‑term care services
• Collaborate with operational leaders to achieve census, revenue, financial, and quality objectives
• Support regional and corporate growth initiatives as assigned
