Position Summary:
Campbell University Law Library seeks an accomplished, service-oriented law librarian to join its team as a Reference Librarian. This position provides research assistance to faculty, students, and other users of the library and serves as a member of the Faculty Liaison program. Under the supervision of the Law Library Director, the Reference Librarian is primarily responsible for creating, promoting, and facilitating the use of the library as a technology-rich learning environment. In addition to participating in library instructional programs, the Reference Librarian participates in collection development, conducts individual research consultations, and develops and authors research guides.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver legal research instruction to law students through guest lectures, library-sponsored research workshops, and online learning resources.
Provide research and reference support to the Campbell Law School community.
Serve as liaison to assigned faculty members providing support for scholarship and teaching.
Contribute to the development of new library services and programs that improve the library’s physical and virtual presence.
Identify and evaluate new resources through participation in the collection development process.
Serve on library, law school, and other professional committees.
Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to FERPA and other state and federal mandates.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited institution.
Three to five years of library reference experience in an academic law library.
Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
Excellent legal research and reference skills with demonstrated expertise in both print and electronic resources.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills as well as teaching skills.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills as well as strong supervisory skills.
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, university officials and outside constituencies.

Comprehensive computer skills with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology.
Knowledge of current information technologies, database and Internet searching proficiencies, and a mastery of basic legal research sources and techniques using both print and electronic materials.
Knowledge regarding usage of Blackboard and web-based applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and common methods of digital communication such as web conferencing, web/text chat.
Familiarityusing/administering social media platforms.
Exercise independentjudgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines.
Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment.
