Position Overview
Stratos Solutions is seeking an experiencedCommunications Satellite (COMSAT) SETA professional to support Intelligence Community (IC) space operations in Las Cruces, NM. This position will provide technical and operational expertise across satellite communications architectures, networks, scheduling, and mission operations.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of IC and DoD SATCOM architectures and the ability to work effectively across multiple organizations, mission partners, and technical teams. The role will focus on ensuring continuity and coordination of satellite communications scheduling and operations across relay systems and networks supporting critical missions.
Responsibilities
- Provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support for satellite communications planning, scheduling, integration, and operations.
- Support the coordination and execution of SATCOM services across multiple communications networks.
- Work across multiple mission teams, operations centers, ground systems, and external organizations to ensure continuity of communications services.
- Coordinate and resolve scheduling requirements, priorities, conflicts, and changes among multiple stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of current and future communications requirements and identify potential scheduling, capacity, or operational conflicts.
- Support development and assessment of communications architectures, operational concepts, procedures, and technical solutions.
- Provide system usage metrics, overall customer trends including community adopted constraints/procedures and assist teams in developing usage and overall mission satisfaction strategies.ย
- Support enterprise tests, readiness activities, exercises, rehearsals, and real-time operations as required.
- Identify technical and operational risks to SATCOM availability and mission continuity and communicate those risks to appropriate stakeholders.
- Develop briefings, technical assessments, schedules, status reports, and recommendations for cross-organization customer leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Communications, Information Systems, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience supporting the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or national security space missions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of satellite communications systems, architectures, and operational concepts.
- Familiarity with government and/or commercial SATCOM networks.
- Experience with SATCOM scheduling, mission planning, network coordination, spacecraft operations, ground operations, or related activities.
- Understanding of the interfaces between spacecraft, ground systems, communications networks, and mission operations.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple organizations and technical disciplines in a complex operational environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical and operational issues for diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to identify potential communications conflicts, dependencies, and risks and drive issues toward resolution.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting NRO, USSF, SSC or other IC/DoD space organizations.
- Current or previous experience with handling special access and reserve level clearances
- Experience supporting satellite operations from an operational ground station, mission operations center, or satellite operations center.
- Familiarity with communications link planning, RF systems, ground stations, antennas, network interfaces, and communications capacity management.
- Experience coordinating communications resources across multiple spacecraft or missions with competing operational priorities.
