🚀 Project Overview 

You will join the Developer Platform team on the Context workstream, which is dedicated to building a cutting-edge, agent-first development environment. The team's mission is to provide AI agents with secure, real-time access to context across internal document stores, messaging platforms, and operational portals. Your immediate priority will center on a long-term infrastructure initiative for hosting and managing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, followed by developing a unified read-only MCP framework to expand the contextual data sources available to AI coding assistants and autonomous agents.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Agentic Ecosystem & MCP Feature Development: Develop custom features for Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, developer environment harnesses, and agent-first development tools using Java (preferred) or Go.
• AI-Assisted Software Engineering: Leverage advanced AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) to write, refactor, debug, and accelerate code delivery across internal developer productivity platforms.
• Context Integration & Source Exposure: Build read-only MCP integrations to expose internal enterprise communication platforms, document repositories, and operational tools as context sources for AI agents.
• Prompt Engineering & Context Management: Design, refine, and optimize prompts and context-retrieval architectures to maximize LLM reasoning, code generation accuracy, and output quality.
• Code Review & Software Quality: Read, inspect, and evaluate code across team repositories to deliver detailed feedback during code reviews and enforce maintainability.
• System Troubleshooting: Diagnose, debug, and resolve complex application bugs, MCP protocol errors, and AI workflow edge cases across development environments.

💡 Must-Have Skills

• Experience Level: 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building software products (Senior level).
• Core Programming Proficiency: Strong hands-on development experience in Java.
• Applied AI & LLM Systems: Hands-on experience integrating and applying Large Language Models (LLMs) into software workflows (focused on applied usage rather than model training).
• AI Coding Tools & Prompt Engineering: Demonstrated proficiency using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) alongside strong prompt engineering skills to optimize code generation.
• Product Focus: Background centered on building software products (Note: pure ETL/data pipeline, systems administration, or basic scripting backgrounds are not aligned).
• Version Control & Ownership: Strong Git experience combined with a demonstrated technical ownership mindset and structured problem-solving skills.
• MCP Infrastructure: Familiarity with setup, configuration, troubleshooting, hosting, and maintaining Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
• Agent Skill Authoring: Proven track record of authoring AI agent skills or extensions that achieved broad adoption and developer acceleration.
• Advanced AI Tooling: Hands-on experience with emerging AI-assisted software development platforms and agent harnesses.
• Systems Thinking: Ability to break down complex architectural challenges into modular, composable layers and clear abstractions.

🌐 Time Zone & Collaboration 

The role requires collaboration with teams aligned to Central Time (CT) and Eastern Time (EST). Flexibility to overlap with North America business hours is required in this remote-first setup.
