Java Developer

Job Summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Java Developer to drive the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications. The role requires strong expertise in Java technologies, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, software quality, and technical team leadership. The successful candidate will guide Java development teams, contribute to architecture decisions, establish coding best practices, and deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance software solutions. This position will support application modernization, reliable production operations, CI/CD adoption, and successful delivery of business objectives.

Software Requirements

Required

• Java: Experience with Java 8, Java 11, and Java 17.
• Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate: Experience developing, securing, and maintaining enterprise applications.
• RESTful Web Services and Microservices: Experience designing and implementing scalable APIs and microservices.
• API Gateway and Service Discovery: Experience supporting service routing, registration, discovery, and communication.
• OpenAPI/Swagger: Experience documenting and managing RESTful APIs.
• Messaging and Integration: Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and JMS.
• Databases: Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB.

Overall Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Java developers by providing technical guidance, mentoring, and delivery support.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Drive architecture discussions and implement appropriate software design patterns and development practices.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams, stakeholders, and delivery teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, quality requirements, security controls, and maintainability expectations.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and provide timely and sustainable resolutions.
• Participate in estimation, planning, sprint execution, technical discussions, and delivery tracking.
• Ensure applications meet defined requirements for security, performance, scalability, availability, and operational support.
• Support CI/CD implementation, DevOps initiatives, automated testing, and deployment improvements.
• Plan resources, allocate tasks, monitor progress, and support timely delivery with defined quality standards.

• 8+ years of professional experience in Java development; the overall role is suited to candidates with approximately 8 to 12+ years of experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in a Technical Lead or Lead Developer role.
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing enterprise applications, microservices, RESTful APIs, and Spring Boot solutions.
• Experience leading technical discussions, conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, and supporting delivery activities.
• Experience with cloud platforms, messaging technologies, databases, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and production issue resolution.
• Preferred Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance.
• Preferred Exposure to event-driven architecture, containerization, cloud migration, distributed systems, and high-volume transaction processing.
• Candidates may also qualify through an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience, technical training, certifications, and demonstrated delivery of comparable Java and enterprise application solutions.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Design, develop, test, review, and maintain Java applications, Spring Boot microservices, RESTful APIs, integrations, and database components.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, estimation, architecture discussions, code reviews, and collaboration with Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams, and stakeholders.
• Deliver production-ready features, technical documentation, automated tests, CI/CD changes, defect fixes, performance improvements, and deployment support.
• Make technical decisions within approved architecture and coding standards, allocate tasks, guide team members, and escalate risks affecting security, quality, scope, or timelines.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required; equivalent relevant education and professional experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of Java development experience, including at least 2 years in a Technical Lead or Lead Developer role.
• Relevant certifications in Java, cloud technologies, Kubernetes, DevOps, security, or agile delivery are preferred but not required.
• Training in Java modernization, microservices, cloud platforms, secure development, CI/CD, containerization, and distributed systems is preferred.
• Maintain continuous professional development through relevant training, technical practice, knowledge sharing, and awareness of current software engineering standards.
