Summary:

The Supervisor of HIM Release of Information (ROI) supervises the daily operations of the Health Information Management staff assigned by leading, assigning work, ensuring timely completion of work, and confirming that productivity and quality standards are being met. HIM ROI Supervisor will have oversight and coordination of the Release of Information operation to ensure timely and compliant processing of requests for protected health information, subpoenas and court proceedings.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in health information management with a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification and three (3) years of progressive leadership experience in Health Information Management
• OR must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years of Health Information Management experience with three (3) years of progressive supervisory experience related to Release of Information Management.
• Requires the ability to work well independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Document Management systems; Epic experience preferred.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Good interpersonal communication and strong customer service skills both verbally and in writing, including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling and punctuation are required.
• Must be able to work with others to fully understand the scope of data integrity capabilities within the EHR.
• Strong attention to detail is required.
• Must participate in 24-hour on-call rotation.
  

Certification/Licensure:

• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred; Registered Health Information Administrator highly desired.
