PositionObjective:

Performs echocardiographicprocedures,usingspecialequipment,to measure,calculate,andreport pertinentpatientdata tofacilitateaccuratediagnosticoutcome.

EssentialJobDuties:

1.Conducts Echocardiograms as requested throughout the Medical Center, including all patient rooms andthe emergency room. 

2.Explains procedure to patients, providing instructions and direct care to ensure accuracy and patient comfort. 

3.Assesses data reflective of thepatients status and interpret theappropriate information needed toidentify each patient requirement. 

4.Recognizes artifacts,eliminates probablesources and troubleshoots minor equipment problems. 

5.Consistently meets department standards for RVUs whilemaintaining quality work. 

6.Processes imagesacquired from different modalities according toestablished policies and procedures. 

7.Performs dataentry as it relates toprocedures,  in PACS and Electronic Health Record  

8.Practicesradiation safety and ensures that other staff and students are compliant. 

9.Obtains pertinent clinical data adequately as it relates to procedures performed. 

10.Analyzes, processes, and reports outcomesin a timely manner 

Educational/ExperienceRequirements: 

• High School Diploma or GED 
• Graduated from an accredited ultrasound programspecializing in echocardiography 
• Twoyears'experienceperformingadultechocardiogramsandstressechocardiogramsp
