We are looking for experiencedConfiguration Managers to join an engineering team in Pitstone.

The team is looking fortwo Configuration Managers with around 5+ years' experience andone Senior/Lead Configuration Manager with significant Configuration Management experience.

The role will be responsible for effectiveConfiguration Management across complex engineering projects, maintainingconfiguration baselines, controllingengineering changes, and ensuring accurate and traceable product information throughout the product lifecycle.

The team has recently migrated to aWindchill PLM environment, creating a strong focus ondata quality,configuration governance,product structures, and the alignment of engineering information acrossPLM, ERP, drawings and BOMs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintainConfiguration Management Plans for new and existing projects.

• ProvideConfiguration Management guidance to project and engineering teams.

• Define and maintainConfiguration Items (CIs),product structures andBills of Materials (BOMs).

• Establish and maintainconfiguration baselines, includingFunctional, Allocated and Product Baselines.

• Manageconfiguration identification and ensure product information is correctly structured and controlled within thePLM environment.

• Analyseengineering and PLM data to identify configuration gaps, inconsistencies anddata-quality issues.

• Ensure consistency betweenPLM, ERP, engineering drawings, specifications and BOM structures.

• Coordinateconfiguration change control processes and supportChange Control Boards (CCBs).

• Ensureengineering changes are documented, assessed, approved, implemented andfully traceable.

• Maintain accurateconfiguration status records and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

• Participate in engineering and design reviews, includingPDR and CDR.

• Supportconfiguration audits and ensure compliance with relevant standards and processes.

• Establish, maintain and release configuration documentation at key project milestones.

• Work closely withEngineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Project Management teams.

• Identify opportunities to improveConfiguration Management processes, tools and governance.

• Support continuous improvement ofconfiguration data integrity andproduct information management within the PLM environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum5 years' experience in Configuration Management within anengineering, technical or data management environment.

• Strong knowledge ofConfiguration Management principles, processes and best practices.

• Working knowledge ofISO 10007.

• Strong understanding ofconfiguration planning, identification, control, status accounting and configuration audits.

• Strong understanding oftechnical documentation, product structures, BOMs, Configuration Items and configuration baselines.

• Experience withengineering change management, change control and configuration traceability.

• Experience withPLM/PDM systems, ideallyWindchill, Teamcenter, ENOVIA or similar.

• Ability to analyseengineering/product data and identify inconsistencies or configuration issues.

• Good understanding of the relationship betweenPLM, ERP, drawings, specifications and BOM/product structures.

• Excellent written and verbalEnglish communication skills.

• Ability to work autonomously within amultidisciplinary engineering environment.

•CMII certification or equivalent practical Configuration Management experience would be advantageous.

• Relevant higher education qualification or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable:

• Experience withinAerospace, Space, Defence/Military, Automotive or other highly regulated engineering environments.

• Experience withWindchill, particularly configuration management, product structures, BOMs, data quality or PLM migration.

• Experience working withsensitive or controlled data.

• Experience supporting or leadingConfiguration Control Boards (CCBs), configuration audits and engineering change processes.

• Experience withPDR/CDR and formal engineering development environments.

• French or German language skills.

Senior / Lead Configuration Manager:

For the Senior/Lead position, we are looking for significantConfiguration Management experience.

The successful candidate should be able to operate autonomously, guide other Configuration Managers and improveConfiguration Management governance, processes and data integrity.

The Senior/Lead profile should be comfortable resolving complexconfiguration and product-data issues, supportingCCBs and audits, and working acrossEngineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Project teams.

Working Environment:

The role is based inPitstone.

Due to the recentPLM migration, the initial period will require a strongonsite presence for onboarding, knowledge transfer and collaboration with the existing team.

Initial working pattern: 3–4 days onsite per week.

Once established, there may be scope to reduce onsite attendance to approximately1 day per week, depending on experience, project requirements and team needs.

Contract: Initial6-month requirement, with expected extension.
