About the Role

Are you a vibrant, high-energy leader who loves sports, fitness, and organizing events? Our Job Corps Center is seeking an enthusiastic Recreation Advisor to shape our campus culture. In this active role, you will design the after-hours student experience—running engaging evening, weekend, and community programs that keep our campus alive with excitement while keeping young adults motivated, healthy, and moving forward.

Your Impact & Key Responsibilities

  • Activity Coordination: Plan and oversee a comprehensive mix of sports, fitness, arts, and leadership activities, including exciting evening and community programs.
  • Student Mentorship: Supervise student activities, guide the student recreation aide program, and model professional career success standards.
  • Safety & Accountability: Ensure all activities follow strict safety guidelines while accurately documenting student participation and accountability.
  • Facility Upkeep: Keep the recreation department clean, organized, and welcoming while managing the equipment inventory and performing basic repairs when needed.
  • Cross-Department Partnership: Work hand-in-hand with Social Development and other campus teams to ensure a fun, supportive environment for all students.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table

  • Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • An Associate of Arts (AA) DegreeOR at least one (1) year of related experience working directly with youth.
  • License: A valid in-state driver’s license and the ability to meet company insurability standards.
  • Physical Ability: High-energy, active role requiring routine standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and participating in physical recreation.
  • Core Values: Strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep commitment to treating students with respect while holding them accountable.
