About the Role

Our client is seeking a Real Estate Associate with a focus on Commercial Leasing and 1–3 years of post-call experience to join its growing Real Estate group.

Working closely with experienced partners, you will be involved in a broad range of commercial leasing matters, including advising both landlords and tenants on sophisticated transactions involving office, retail, industrial and mixed-use properties.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial leases and related documentation
• Advising clients on a variety of commercial leasing matters
• Preparing lease amendments, renewals, assignments and subleases
• Conducting legal research and preparing client memoranda
• Assisting with complex leasing transactions and portfolio management matters
• Collaborating closely with partners and clients to provide practical, business-focused legal advice

What You Bring

The ideal candidate will have:

• 1–3 years of post-call experience in commercial real estate or commercial leasing
• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial lease agreements
• A solid understanding of Canadian commercial leasing law
• Strong drafting, analytical and negotiation skills
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication abilities
• Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (or eligibility for admission through the applicable mobility process)
