Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid/Onsite as required)
Experience: 10+ years overall | 6+ years with React & Frontend Architecture

Job Summary

We are seeking an experiencedReact Architect to lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable, high-performance frontend applications. This role requires deep expertise in React, modern JavaScript frameworks, frontend system design, and the ability to mentor teams while partnering closely with product, backend, and platform stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring strong architectural judgment, hands-on coding ability, and experience building enterprise-grade web applications.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Define and own frontend architecture standards, best practices, and design patterns
• Design scalable, reusable, and maintainable React-based applications
• Lead decisions around state management, component architecture, performance optimization, and security
• Ensure frontend architecture aligns with backend APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms

Development & Technical Leadership

• Provide hands-on development support for complex features and critical paths
• Review code, enforce quality standards, and ensure adherence to architectural guidelines
• Drive adoption of modern frontend technologies and tools
• Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and design sessions

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Partner with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend architects, and DevOps teams
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practices and technical growth
• Support hiring, onboarding, and technical evaluations when needed

Performance, Security & Quality

• Optimize application performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
• Ensure security best practices (XSS, CSRF, authentication flows, secure state handling)
• Establish testing strategies including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with strong frontend focus
• 6+ years of hands-on experience withReact.js in large-scale applications
• Expert-level knowledge of:
  • JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript
  • React Hooks, Context API, component lifecycle
  • State management (Redux, Zustand, MobX, or similar)
  • Modern frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel)
• Strong experience with:
  • RESTful APIs and GraphQL
  • Micro-frontend architecture
  • Design systems and component libraries
• Proven experience defining frontend architecture in enterprise environments

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience withNext.js, SSR, and performance optimization
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• CI/CD pipelines and frontend deployment strategies
• Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA)
• Background in finance, fintech, healthcare, or other regulated industries
• Prior experience in NYC-based or large enterprise environments
