Job Description

The SAP Distribution Specialist supports and enhances our SAP Distribution processes as a subject matter and process expert. This role is part of the APAC CN Distribution teambut is fully allocated to Global network team named Global Distribution Support, which provides daily operational support to internal users and third-party logistics (3PL) partners, resolving issues and errors related to SAP operations.

The specialist ensures robust IT integration is in place to support operational success whenever a new 3PL partner is onboarded for contract logistics and transport services in APAC CN. The role also delivers training to internal users and 3PL partners to ensure compliance with designed processes and plays a key role in SAP upgrades, change request implementations, and continuous process improvement for distribution excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational and technical support

  • Provide technical support to Internal users like, Supply Inventory Planning team, Distribution team, BU CS team, Shipping teams Etc. on SAP systems within Distribution module related problems from the time delivery note is created and is received into the RDCs / LDCs or designated location and until executed for shipping to customer, internal as well as external.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAP-related issues in a timely manner to minimize operational disruptions.

  • On request conduct training sessions for newcomers and provide refresher training for existing users within SAP Distribution module and LEGO developed tools.

  • Escalate master data issues to the right master data owners to ensure accuracy and integrity of SAP master data.

  • Manage and implement change requests within the SAP Distribution module, aligning system configurations with evolving retail business needs.

  • Coordinate and support 3P’s system implementations and upgrades as well as implementation of SAP patches.

Distribution Process Improvement and Excellence

  • Support the maintenance and enhancement IT integrations with third-party logistics providers, data platforms, and internal systems to support Distribution Centre operations.

  • Collaborate in cross-functional projects involving supply chain, IT, and Distribution Centres operations where SAP Distribution expertise is required, contributing to design, testing, and deployment.

  • Identify and propose areas for Distribution process improvement within SAP systems.

  • Contribute to best practices and knowledge sharing initiatives across the organization.

  • Support the implementation of the company’s initiative to simplify, harmonize, and standardize business processes executed in SAP.

Risk Management, Compliance, Ethics

  • Support investigation of daily inventory discrepancies in collaboration with 3P Distribution Centre operations, Distribution Managers in ensuring root causes are addressed and corrective actions implemented.

  • Promote ethical and compliant use of SAP and related operating systems, ensuring users follow approved workflows and access protocols.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing system documentation, process insights, and data extracts as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with SAP SD module within Supply Chain Operations.

  • Solid understanding of data structures and data formats, with experience of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & EDI Integrations, providing feedback to adjacent technology development teams.

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and retail-specific SAP functionalities.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and communication skills

  • Detailed knowledge of information flows (orders) and physical flows (inventory)

  • Thrives in an organization under continuous development and strong growth

  • Team oriented, possesses good interpersonal and communication skills and able to manage assigned responsibilities independently

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional retail environment and managing multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience demonstrating success in project management would be a plus

  • Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills with colleagues and stakeholders

  • Capable to impact the organization by own initiative

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS), SAP ERP systems focusing on SD.

  • Strong understanding of intercompany and end-to-end supply chain processes, and related modules in SAP

  • Strong understanding of database management, data integrity, and system patch/upgrade processes

  • Experience with reporting tools (e.g. SAP reports, PowerBI)
