Position Summary
Under the guidance of theFinancial Controller, theCash Office & Accounting Clerk plays an important role in supporting the financial operations and maintaining the financial integrity ofRed Deer Resort & Casino.

This position combinescash office and accounting-related responsibilities, including daily cash reconciliation, revenue reporting, transaction verification, cash control, vendor administration, record maintenance, and supporting general accounting functions.

The successful candidate will have experience incash handling, reconciliation, and accounting or finance-related duties, along with strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform daily cash counting, balancing, and reconciliations.
- Maintain cash vaults and appropriate currency levels.
- Prepare daily revenue reports, deposits, and reconciliation records.
- Reconcile credit cards, room charges, cash-outs, and other transactions.
- Verify cash-out reports for Front Desk, Banquets, Servers, and other departments.
- Identify, investigate, and report cash and financial discrepancies.
- Handle VLT cash collection, counting, verification, and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate financial records, transaction documentation, and filing.
- Perform accounting data entry and support general accounting functions.
- Assist with accounts payable, invoice verification, receipts, and vendor records.
- Support month-end reconciliation, financial reporting, and audit requirements.
- Follow established cash-handling procedures, accounting controls, and security policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial, employee, and vendor information.
- Perform other finance-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Education, Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Bookkeeping, or a related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in cash handling, accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related role.
- Experience with cash reconciliation, accounts payable, financial transactions, and record keeping preferred.
- Hospitality, casino, hotel, retail, banking, or other high-volume cash-handling experience is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Strong numerical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and financial/accounting systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Clear criminal record check required upon hire.
Work Environment
- Primarily an office and cash-handling environment involving extended periods of sitting and computer use.
- Regular use of computers, calculators, cash-counting equipment, and financial systems.
- Requires repetitive cash counting, data entry, reconciliation, and document review.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy during high-volume and month-end periods.
- Regular handling of cash and confidential financial information in a secure environment.
Hours of Work
The individual must be adaptable and flexible with their availability, as working hours may vary depending on operational and financial requirements.

The position may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays, particularly during busy operational periods, month-end processing, or other business requirements.
