1.The business line:7 to 10 years in a first-line business risk, operational risk or controls role. It must be inside a bank's Cash Management, Treasury Management or Services, Transaction Banking or Payments business. Technology, data, PMO or product roles don't count, even within that business.
2.Hands-on core risk processes:RCSA or risk mapping, control design reviews, key control testing, risk attestations, KRIs with thresholds, risk assessments for new products and changes, and issue management.
3.Cash Management regulation:
oknowledge of U.S. supervisory expectations (Client SR letters, OCC bulletins)
oknowledge of the rules behind the products: Nacha Operating Rules for ACH, UCC Article 4A and Regulation J for wires, and BSA/AML and OFAC sanctions screening for payments
oexperience supporting regulatory exams or audits for those products
Where to look
·Titles:Business Risk Manager, Business Control Manager or Officer, First Line Risk and Control, Operational Risk Manager, or Risk and Control Manager. Look for these within Treasury Management, Treasury Services, Global Transaction Banking, Cash Management or Payments teams.
·Employers:first-line risk and control teams in the treasury management and payments businesses of large U.S. banks (for example JPMorgan, Client, Client, Wells Fargo, BNY, Client, U.S. Bank), plus the North American operations of foreign banks.
