Bronx, NY

Weekday interventional practice in New York City – procedures, not a reading list.

The Community

The Bronx is New York City's greenest borough – nearly a quarter of its land is parkland, from Van Cortlandt Park and Pelham Bay Park (three times the size of Central Park) to the New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Zoo. Kingsbridge and Riverdale offer quiet residential streets minutes from the Hudson, Arthur Avenue serves some of the best Italian food in the city, and Yankee Stadium is a short ride away. Manhattan is 20 minutes south by subway or Metro-North, and Westchester, the Hudson Valley and northern New Jersey are an easy commute for physicians who prefer the suburbs.

Getting Here

LaGuardia Airport (LGA) – approximately 8 miles / 20 minutes. John F. Kennedy International (JFK) – approximately 17 miles / 35 minutes. Newark Liberty International (EWR) – approximately 23 miles / 40 minutes.

The Facility

James J. Peters VA Medical Center is a 311-bed tertiary care teaching hospital in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx, affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Interventional Radiology is a dedicated procedural service working alongside General Surgery, supported by IR nursing, radiologic technologists and surgical scheduling staff.
