ERPs form the core of this ecosystem and are tightly integrated with best-in-class systems such as Salesforce, Windchill, Movemedical, Maestro, Ariba, Workday and many more. At S+N, SAP serves as our primary and strategic ERP platform, running 80% of our operations and revenue.

We are seeking an SAP Manufacturing & Quality Solution Architect to design and deliver SAP solutions and customizations aligned with business requirements, while supporting and preparing for our strategic transition to SAP S/4HANA. Therefore, this role is both strategic and pivotal, playing a key part in enabling Smith & Nephew's digital transformation and continued growth over the coming years.

What will you be doing?

• This role oversees the end-to-end Plan-to-Inventory value stream, including production planning, shop floor execution, quality management, inventory, and plant maintenance functions that support manufacturing and commercial operations.
• Candidates should possess strong SAP functional expertise, a thorough understanding of complex business processes in large multinational enterprises, and proven experience delivering complex, multi-country SAP implementations and transformation initiatives.
• Design and deliver solutions that achieve desired business outcomes while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and guidelines established by the Enterprise Architecture function.
• Ensure solutions meet defined quality standards, technical constraints, scalability expectations, and performance requirements.
• Provide leadership and governance to internal and HCL functional experts, ensuring successful delivery of business outcomes.
• Govern the quality of solution deliverables throughout the build lifecycle, with accountability for technical integrity, architectural compliance, and solution acceptance.
• Lead the design, delivery, and governance of SAP solutions across global releases, projects, enhancements, and transformation programs.
• Govern solution changes through Design Authority processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, global standards, and long-term strategic objectives.
• Provide expert L3 support for Live countries and ensure stability, reliability, and optimal performance of business-critical SAP applications.
• Champion continuous improvement and innovation by leveraging emerging SAP capabilities and industry best practices to enable business growth and transformation.

What will you need to be successful?

• Education: Bachelor’s / Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT or related subject preferred.
• Licenses/ Certifications:
  - SAP certification: SAP certifications in related module is preferred.
  - ITIL Qualifications is a plus.
• Experience: At least 12 years of IT experience, with 8+ years’ experience in multiple full-cycle SAP implementations based on global core templates, including multi-country rollouts and deployments.
• This role will be based in Pune, Hybrid- work model, 2 days working from office.
• Strong expertise in Plan-to-Inventory (P2I) processes, encompassing production planning, shop floor control, quality management, plant maintenance, and service management. Well-versed in handling batch-managed and sterile manufacturing environments.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP manufacturing and quality management processes, including configuration, deployment, and optimization of related system capabilities.
• Proven ability to govern cross-functional business solutions and manage end-to-end process integration across multiple functional areas.
• Strong functional expertise in SAP ECC 6.0 EHP7 or higher, with hands-on experience in SAP HANA environments preferred. Exposure to additional SAP functional domains is an added advantage.
• Broad experience in enterprise applications and information systems, particularly SAP modules including PP, QM, PM, with integration across IM, MM, WM, SD, and FI/CO. Experienced in delivering solutions within highly regulated life sciences environments.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities, including successful delivery of system enhancements, process improvements, and small-to-medium-sized SAP projects.
• Proven people leadership experience, including managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams to achieve project and operational objectives.
• Experience working within regulated industries, particularly the medical device and life sciences sectors, with a strong understanding of compliance and validation requirements.
• Strong vendor and stakeholder management capabilities. Solid functional and technical expertise in SAP business processes and operating models.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed, cross-cultural teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
