Job Description

Blackline Technical Lead

Role Mission

To own and drive the technical design, configuration, and continuous improvement of the global Blackline environment. You will be the technical authority for the Blackline platform, ensuring it is a stable, scalable, and efficient solution that meets the evolving needs of the finance community while adhering to best practices in an agile product team.

Core Accountabilities

·      Technical Solution Leadership:Lead the technical build, design, configuration, and ongoing management of the global Blackline platform.

·      Agile Delivery:Work within a Product team, actively participating in agile ceremonies to support continuous backlog grooming and delivery. Translate business requirements and user stories into technical designs and executable tasks.

·      Platform Governance:Establish and enforce technical standards, best practices, and governance for the Blackline environment to ensure solution integrity and security.

·      SDLC Management:Oversee all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for Blackline, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, and deployment of new features and enhancements.

·      Stakeholder Collaboration:Partner closely with Product Managers, business analysts, and finance stakeholders to understand needs and provide robust technical solutions. Collaborate with other technical teams to manage integrations and dependencies.

·      System Optimization:Proactively monitor system performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead initiatives to optimize and innovate on the Blackline platform.

Key Qualifications

·       Deep technical expertise in configuring and managing a global Blackline environment, including modules such as Account Reconciliation, Transaction Matching, and Journals.

·       Proven experience working within an agile delivery model (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with associated tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).

·       Strong understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and experience applying it in a product-centric environment.

·       Solid grasp of core finance and accounting principles, particularly within the Record to Report (R2R) process.

·       Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

·       Experience in establishing technical governance and driving the adoption of platform standards across a large organization.
