Planning Engineer | Oil and Gas | Saudi Arabia

Job Summary

We are looking for an experiencedPlanning Engineer – Mechanical to support project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Refinery projects in Saudi Arabia.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience inmechanical construction, maintenance, shutdown and turnaround projects, with the ability to develop and monitor project schedules and coordinate effectively with site, engineering, procurement, and subcontractor teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailedproject schedules for mechanical construction, maintenance, shutdown, and turnaround activities.

• Preparebaseline schedules, look-ahead schedules, recovery schedules, and progress updates.

• Monitor actual project progress against planned schedules and identify delays, critical activities, and potential risks.

• Coordinate withSite Execution, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and HSE teams to ensure timely project execution.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthlyprogress reports and planning dashboards.

• Track manpower, equipment, materials, productivity, and resource requirements.

• Analyze project performance and provide recommendations forschedule recovery and corrective actions.

• Monitor critical path activities and ensure timely completion of project milestones.

• Prepareprogress measurement and quantity tracking for mechanical activities.

• Support preparation ofS-curves, progress curves, histograms, and productivity reports.

• Coordinate with subcontractors and monitor their progress against approved schedules.

• Assist in identifyingschedule risks, delays, and potential extension-of-time impacts.

• Participate in project progress meetings and provide accurate planning updates to management and clients.

• Ensure planning and reporting activities comply with project requirements and client standards.

• Minimum8 years of relevant experience as a Planning Engineer inOil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or related EPC projects.

• Strong experience inMechanical Construction / Maintenance projects.

• Shutdown & Turnaround planning experience is highly preferred.

• RelevantMechanical Engineering qualification.

• Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting.

• Experience with planning software such asPrimavera P6 is required/preferred.

• Candidates withSaudi Arabia / GCC experience will be preferred.

• Good understanding of project execution methodologies and mechanical activities.

• Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

• GoodEnglish communication and reporting skills.

• Candidates must haverelevant experience matching the position applied for.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with experience inSaudi Arabia/GCC Oil & Gas projects, particularly those who have handledmechanical shutdown, turnaround, maintenance, and refinery/petrochemical projects, will be highly preferred.
