Valley Veterinarian Clinic in Twisp, WA has an opening for a Veterinary Receptionist/Surgery Coordinator. No prior veterinary experience is required.

This role works Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and will occasionally (up to once per month) work on Friday.

Pay is $19/hour. We offer a full benefits package with medical and dental coverage, three weeks of paid vacation, paid sick time and veterinary services for your own pets.

Who You Are

  • You have at least two years of experience working at a front desk, scheduling appointments and taking payments.
  • You love people and animals equally. You are friendly and comfortable with both.
  • You are an on time person, at work and in the rest of your life.
  • You live in or near the Methow Valley and would have a reasonable daily commute to Twisp.
  • You're dependable and you plan your time off in advance, so that if you miss work, it’s for an important reason.
  • You like technology and learning new tech is easy for you.
  • You have professional maturity and you are a clear and thoughtful communicator. You prefer working in a team because you work best when you work with others.
  • You have a strong sense of humor. (Working in a vet clinic is humorous!)
  • You could see yourself in this role for at least three years.
  • It’s a plus if you know veterinary terminology and the basics of animal behavior and health.

What You’ll Do

Your primary role will be to coordinate with owners for their pet’s surgery. You will welcome the owner and their pet on the day of surgery, as well as coordinate for pick up after surgery. This is a hands-on, animal role.

You will also work at the front desk and perform the duties of the Veterinary Receptionist as needed.

  • Schedule pet surgeries. Coordinate surgery days.
  • Help maintain the flow of patients so that people and pets have a good experience at our clinic.
  • Carrying out or set up procedures that do not require Veterinarian or Vet Tech assistance.
  • Keep pets and people calm and safe.
  • Keep exam rooms and lab equipment clean and organized.
  • Answer and manage the phone. Be thorough, courteous and quick on the phone.
  • Schedule appointments. Make calls to confirm appointments. Manage the schedule to make sure it’s full and there aren’t unexpected openings.
  • Ensure client and pet records are always up to date. Be detail oriented.
  • Accept and post payments using our point of sale system.
