Instructor or Subject Matter Expert for Data Science Immersive Course

Who We Are:
Next Level Academy (NXTLVL) is a new type of learning institution in Manila, Philippines focused on teaching the most up-to-date technology skills. NXTLVL wants to make learning more accessible, and provide the skills that people can use to build careers and to chase entrepreneurial dreams. We offer immersive courses in subject matter difficult for the local population to receive in the quality expected from recognized employers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Plan, deliver, and teach a full curriculum/syllabus in data science, five days a week in-person class for 4 weeks (20 hours of teaching time per week) or teach two 3-hour part time classes per week for 8-11 weeks. There are also options for an intensive crash course for 1-2 weeks for our corporate clients depending on their demands and needs. Employment term will be a 3-6 month contract and can be extended upon the feedback from the students and total analysis of the success of the program.
• Guide and mentor students through development of an impressive final project that will showcase their abilities to hiring managers and corporations.
• Facilitate a dynamic and collaborative classroom community both inside and outside of the classroom, in addition to labs and office hours.
• Assist operations to develop learning programs that ensure we provide the quality, most up-to-date, and best experience for our students.
• Work alongside NXTLVL team to attract business partnerships and corporations to hire students upon course completion as well as provide spending budgets for projects per class.
  
  

Skills and Qualifications:

• You are eager to shape the skills, minds, and trajectories of the newest generation of data scientists and analysts.
  
• You are an expert in SQL, Python and related Python libraries (pandas, numpy).
• You have fluency in the following topics: statistics; manipulation of large data sets; data visualization techniques and tools such as Tableau, matplotlib; machine learning algorithms such as naive bayes, SVMs, decision trees, KNN, K-means clustering.
  
  
• Familiarity with python libraries NLTK and sci-kit learn, Hadoop, Apache Spark, JavaScript, D3.js; R; Basket-weaving.
  
  
• You are on top of big data trends and have previous data science and/or engineering teaching experience, through a course, team training, etc.
