Our client is looking for a flexible and passionateBank Chef to join the team atJane Percy House in Northumberland.

This is an opportunity for someone who takes pride in preparing nutritious, appetising meals and enjoys creating a positive dining experience for residents. As a Bank Chef, you will provide valuable cover across the kitchen, supporting the team during periods of annual leave, sickness and increased demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cookfresh, nutritious and appetising meals for residents, visitors and team members.

  • Adapt menus and meals to meet individualdietary, nutritional, cultural and allergen requirements.

  • Follow planned menus, recipes and portion guidance while maintaining a consistently high standard of food.

  • Support the delivery of meals at agreed times and ensure food is presented attractively.

  • Maintain excellent standards offood hygiene, health and safety throughout the kitchen.

  • Complete relevant temperature checks, cleaning records and other kitchen documentation accurately.

  • Ensure ingredients are stored correctly and monitor stock levels, quality and use-by dates.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a welcoming and enjoyable mealtime experience.

  • Keep kitchen areas, equipment and work surfaces clean, organised and safe.

  • Provide flexible cover across a range of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays where required.

  • Report any concerns relating to food quality, allergies, equipment or resident wellbeing promptly.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate aboutcooking and providing high-quality food.

  • Experienced in working in a professional kitchen, care setting, hospitality environment or similar.

  • Knowledgeable about food hygiene, allergen awareness and safe food preparation.

  • Comfortable preparing meals for people with a range of dietary requirements.

  • Well organised, reliable and able to work calmly under pressure.

  • A positive team member who communicates clearly and supports colleagues.

  • Committed to treating residents with dignity, respect and kindness.

  • Flexible and available to work bank shifts according to the needs of the service.

  • Qualified in Food Safety or willing to complete the relevant training.
