About the Opportunity
SEE Civil is looking for an experienced Quarry Equipment Diesel Fitter to join our team in Tenterfield, NSW.This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Diesel Fitter with a strong mechanical background and experience maintaining and repairing quarry crushing plant and heavy machinery.
You will support the safe and reliable operation of quarry equipment through preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs and general mechanical servicing. Working across fixed and mobile equipment, you will help minimise downtime and keep plant and machinery safe, reliable and ready for operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on quarry crushing plant and heavy machinery
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and diesel faults and complete repairs efficiently
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist in minimising plant downtime
- Perform inspections to identify maintenance requirements and potential equipment issues
- Complete maintenance and repair work on fixed and mobile quarry equipment
- Conduct scheduled maintenance in accordance with equipment requirements and site maintenance programs
- Maintain accurate records of servicing, maintenance and repair activities
- Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition
- Work collaboratively with quarry operations and maintenance personnel
- Promote compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
- Take a proactive approach to equipment reliability and continuous improvement
Essential Skills and Attributes
- Demonstrated experience as a Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or similar mechanical trade
- Experience working on crushing plant, quarry equipment and/or heavy mobile machinery
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and heavy equipment maintenance
- Strong practical skills and a hands-on approach to maintenance
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and quality outcomes
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a quarry and heavy industrial environment
Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification in Diesel Fitting, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- Current driver licence
- Current Construction White Card
- Previous experience maintaining quarry or crushing and screening equipment
- Experience working with heavy earthmoving machinery
- High Risk Work Licence and relevant plant or equipment tickets
- Working at Heights and/or Confined Space certification
- First Aid and CPR certificate
