      QUALITY MANAGER

JOB OVERVIEW
This role supports HGC Industries' mission and Core Values by developing the corporate-wide processes and procedures required to conform to IATF 16949 and ISO14001 standards, while assembling and leading a team responsible for quality assurance, quality control, and quality systems. The Quality Manager will also ensure employees are properly trained and supervised in the proper technique and use of various types of measurement, product inspection procedures, work instructions, procedural reviews, and other objectives set forth by the organization and/or its customers. They will be responsible for building a trusting, high-performing team, building positive customer relationships, and achieving the quality department's annual goals. This will be accomplished through strong knowledge and experience in quality systems (specifically IATF 16949 and ISO14001), root cause analysis, data collection/analysis, and project management. These systems will support HGC and its customers' strategic goals. Success for the Quality Manager will be achieved by building positive working relationships with their coworkers and customers and meeting the department's goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•  
 Builds and maintains a quality system compliant with IATF16949 and ISO14001
•    Leads process and procedural development and validation activities including:
o    APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning)
o    DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
o    PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
o    Work instructions
o    Process Flow
o    Design/Process Reviews
o    8D problem solving and root cause analysis
•    Develops and supports product improvement and cost savings initiatives and proposals
•    Follows and reviews active projects by maintaining project activity trackers, attending project review meetings, and signing off on project phase completions
•    Provides quality support as necessary to customers during all phases of product development
•    Performs and supports internal and external audits as necessary
•    Builds solid, trusting relationships between internal and external stakeholders
•    Supports the purchasing department with supplier audits

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Provides employee coaching, mentoring, feedback, and development
•    Establishes performance expectations, evaluates performance, and addresses performance or conduct concerns
•    Manages employee corrective action, resolves workplace conflicts, and promotes employee engagement
•    Participates in employee recruitment, interviews, selection, and hiring recommendations.
•    Oversees employee onboarding, training, and development
•    Manages employee schedules, work assignments, attendance, timecards, and time-off requests.
•    Recommends employee promotions, compensation adjustments, and terminations.
•    Supervises other supervisors or managers

•    Proficient math skills, including unit-of-measure conversion calculations

•    Excellent time management skills and ability to efficiently manage priorities and tasks based on importance 
•    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

•    Ability to work self-sufficiently to ensure accuracy and quality of tasks 
•    Ability to navigate and resolve internal or external situations effectively and resourcefully
•    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, coworkers, and HGC  Industries stakeholders
•    High level of emotional intelligence 
                                                                                                                
QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a technical field, or at least ten years' experience in Quality Engineering
•    3+ years supervisor experience preferred
•    3+ years' experience in automotive preferred
•    Certified Quality Engineer, IATF 16949 or ISO14000 auditor – a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
•    Sitting for long periods
•    Occasionally lifting, moving, and carrying up to 50 pounds                             
            
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Manufacturing plant and office employees can/will be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and other airborne particles.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Less than 5%
