Job Overview:
This role involves ensuring that printed circuit boards (PCBs) meet quality standards by conducting inspections using both visual and automated tools. Responsibilities include measuring components, identifying defects such as soldering issues or physical damage, reading blueprints, documenting findings, and collaborating with the production team to address quality concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual and manual inspections of PCBs and components to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
- Use measurement tools like calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and vision measuring machines (VMMS) to verify component dimensions and tolerances.
- Operate and ensure the accuracy and calibration of automated testing equipment.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and customer drawings to confirm compliance with requirements.
- Document inspection results, defects, and yield data in logs or electronic systems.
- Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming products to prevent shipping and assist in disposition.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to identify defect root causes, implement corrective actions, and suggest process improvements.
- Complete standard reports, such as First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and verify documentation accuracy.
- Conduct minor rework, such as mask touch-up or material removal, and verify the quality of rework.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills, including the use of decimals and fractions.
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
- Ability to read and follow drawings, engineering specifications, and quality standards consistently.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task.
- Experience in SMT/Through Hole Circuit Board assembly production, engineering, or quality assurance.
