Quality Inspector
Location:Â Livonia, MI
Work Type:Â Contract - Full Time
Work Arrangement:Â Onsite
Work Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Role Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. This role uses a variety of inspection tools and equipment, maintains accurate inspection records, and supports quality improvements throughout production.
Responsibilities:

Inspect, test, and measure materials and products using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs, thread gauges, gauge pins, optical comparators, surface testers, and height gauges.

Accurately record inspection and test results.

Accept or reject finished products based on specifications and identify materials that do not meet requirements.

Read and interpret basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and written instructions.

Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.

Recommend production or assembly adjustments to improve quality.

Calibrate or verify inspection and test instruments.

Follow safety procedures and support continuous improvement.

Work with other departments to address quality-related issues.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 1 year of inspection experience using common hand gauges or equivalent inspection equipment.

Knowledge of computers and electronics.

Ability to calibrate or verify test instruments and maintain detailed records.

Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple departments.

Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, stooping, handling materials, and lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
At least 1 year of experience programming and operating a Direct Computer Controlled (DCC) CMM.

Working knowledge of quality standards.
-
ASQ certification.
-
Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
