QA Engineer— Performance & Load Testing

We are building a dedicatedPerformance Engineering Squad for a high-scale, cloud-native, event-driven transactional platform. We are seeking a senior-level Performance Test Engineer with deep expertise in performance validation, scalability testing, resiliency analysis, and bottleneck identification across distributed systems.

This is not a traditional QA role. The ideal candidate must be a hands-on specialist capable of designing and executing large-scale performance testing strategies while collaborating closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, Product, and SRE teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive performance testing strategies including:
  • Load Testing
  • Stress Testing
  • Spike Testing
  • Endurance/Soak Testing
  • Scalability Testing
• Create realistic workload models that simulate production traffic patterns.
• Execute performance tests across:
  • REST APIs
  • Microservices
  • WebSockets
  • Kafka/Event Streams
  • Messaging Platforms
• Analyze:
  • P95/P99 Latency
  • Throughput
  • Error Rates
  • Concurrency
  • Resource Utilization
  • Capacity Limits
• Identify performance bottlenecks across application, database, messaging, and infrastructure layers.
• Perform root cause analysis and work with engineering teams to resolve performance issues.
• Define performance benchmarks and scalability goals aligned with business SLAs.
• Implement automated performance testing solutions integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop performance dashboards, reports, and actionable recommendations.
• Participate in release readiness and production scalability assessments.
• Support resiliency testing and capacity planning initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of QA/Testing experience.
• 4+ years of dedicated Performance Engineering and Load Testing experience.
• Proven expertise in validating scalability and reliability of distributed systems under heavy load.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • k6 (Highly Preferred)
  • Locust
  • Gatling
  • JMeter
  • BlazeMeter or equivalent tools
• Experience with distributed load generation and workload modeling.
