QA Engineer – DevOps- Fairfax, VA
Location                           : Fairfax, VA 22031
Project Duration           : 05+ months of contract
Pay rate                            : $72 to $95 an hour on W2

Key Responsibilities:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and traceability to development-stage requirements and deliverables.
- Execute functional and integration tests for defined releases; capture and retain test evidence.
- Automate test cases and integrate into release pipelines.
- Validate AI-assisted code outputs and ensure expected behavior aligns to acceptance criteria.
- Document defects, support triage during development-stage testing, and verify fixes prior to go-live.
- Support release readiness sign-off for go-live and defined enhancement releases.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of QA experience for web and/or platform applications as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), as well as leading testing efforts internally for the team and projects.
- Extensive experience writing test plans/cases and executing functional and integration testing.
- Deep knowledge in an automated testing framework (Playwright, Cypress, etc).
- Familiarity with defect tracking workflows and release readiness practices.
- Ability to document test evidence clearly for auditability and stakeholder review.
- Experience with test automation tools and CI-integrated test execution.
- Familiarity with API testing and integration validation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating, testing, and evaluating  AI/LLM features.
- Experience using AI as an assistant for automated testing.
- Experience with project management methodology and tools (like Service Now).
